  40 converts a file in the Sun rasterfile format to
  41 .SM TIFF.
  42 By default, the
  43 .SM TIFF
  44 image is created with data samples packed (\c
  45 .IR PlanarConfiguration =1),
  46 compressed with the Lempel-Ziv & Welch algorithm (\c
  47 .IR Compression =5),
  48 and with each strip no more than 8 kilobytes.
  49 These characteristics can overriden, or explicitly specified
  50 with the options described below.

  52 Any colormap information in the rasterfile is carried over to the
