   1 MODEM Recommendations for use with mgetty/vgetty

   4 What modem to recommend depends on your needs.  There are very few modems
   5 that handle fax + data + voice perfectly, but quite a number that are
   6 well suited for two of the categories, and less good (or sometimes not
   7 at all) for the third.

   9 For Fax+Data:
  10     * USR Courier V.34/X.2 (no voice)

  12 For FAX+Voice:
  13     * ZyXEL 1496 (data only up to 19200, but best fax implementation)

  15 For Data+Voice:
  16     * USR Sportster VI series (fax implementation is VERY bad)

  18 For FAX+DATA+Voice
  19     * ZyXEL 2864
  20     * MultiTech MT2834ZDXv [watch out - recent firmware versions are weird,
  21       I have been told that 0316D firmware is OK, but make sure that you
  22       can return the modem if it doesn't work]
  23     * ELSA MicroLink TQV/Office series (fax is not perfect, but works ok)
